Genre Characteristics
The Genre Characteristics of a typical Dubstep music video usually consist of:
I aim to capture the up most amount of narrative within my production. This shall be my main focus when capturing the footage. I would also like to capture some close up footage of the cars i plan to use within my music video. Although this is just an idea that I have in my mind, doing some extra audience research into the subject of dupstep videos will help my video project become so much easier.
When it comes to my audience research I shall gather my evidence and answers into voice recordings and post it via a video format.
The results are below.
- Subjective artist shots
- Fast moving shots when song tempo is high
- Some references to a narrative
- Close up shots
- pan shots
- plenty of shot/reverse/shot
- Lots of close up shots of narrative actors and cars

Lyrical Evaluation
The lyrics to TC-Wheres My Money are constantly repeated, there is not a standard structure to it. In the sense that you do not have the typical verse, chorus, verse, chorus. Most songs are sung in this context but not the track I have chosen. TC has made this particular song based around one main chorus. The lyrics themselves tell a short story about two men, where one owes another money. This almost comes across showing that one of the men is similar to a loan shark or an artist demanding money he is entitled to. Therefore the other man is contrasted as a victim of loaned money or a producer that is not keeping his end of the deal.
When listening to the track in full, this including the music and lyrics, the entire song comes across as a car chase within my mind. This is where my main idea of that car chase had originally came from. The force of the dubstep bass you get from the song enforces the initial idea that the chase has begun. This carries on through out the song with memory joggers of the phone call from the beginning of the song. Certain parts of the song are in fact slower in tempo than to other parts, indicating that the chase has slowed down or is just about to reach a massive climax.

TC - Wheres My Money Lyrics
Uh, hello
- Hi
Uh yeah
- Yeah?
About the money...
- Money?
Uh, I don't know if I'm coming out to get it over to you
- What do you mean you won't be able to get it? What?
Uh, 'cause it's like
It's in a secondary holding account
- Holding account?
Now we need to get this to another account
- What?
And you know, what with the state of the music industry nowadays
And record sales and all that you know
- Uh you know what?
- Where's my money?
Hello

Chosen Artist
For my A level coursework, I shall be using a track from the artist TC and Caspa which I shall be creating a music video. The track I have decided on to create this video for is Where's My Money. This song is a quality Dubstep genre track, it was made as a driving track to be played on massive in car sub woffers and 6x9's
The song itself is based around a certain phone call between two men, about money. This one guy has been given money from a massive loan shark and screws the loan shark about. The sense of the tempo to the Dubstep enforce the image of a chase in my eyes. This I am going to recreate into the video I shall be shooting.

Music Video Treatment
Song title: TC - Wheres My Money Genre: Dubstep
Ideas/Concepts/Inspiration
I want to base my music video around the whole idea that one person owes another person money, hence the song title Wheres My Money. The whole genre is being dubstep is based around the really heavy bass, sub woofers will be included. The main aspect of the video would have to be a phone call, it is key in the song, the main lyrics in the song is the phone call itself. The fact whether i have a car chase depends on how easily we can film it. The main ideas I would want to focus on for the video is including the phone call and a car chase, a real story line for the song. I'm going to go with a narrative structure.
What will i need ? (props,actors,locations etc)
x
What will the challenges be and how will I overcome them?
Now within this video there are going to be quite a few challenges to overcome. The main one will be the filming of the car chase, the angles in which i will have to shoot it from, the guys who are going to be up for the making of video. Budget is going to be a main concern as well, use age of petrol is not going to be free.
Justification

Justification
I am going to be using the todorovs narrative theory with my video, being the fact that the structure of the song lyrics make up a story. Dubstep tracks and videos usually do not have a structured story, but in this case with Wheres My Money, you can just imagine the story going through your mind when listening to it. To have the narrative theory based around the video I will have to include the five elements of Todorovs theory; Equilibrium,
